Northwoods Clearings
The Minneapolis Henrys have just returned from our trip to Minneapolis, MN and Sioux Falls, SD. We don't seem to get up to Minneapolis from Chicago quite frequently enough for our tastes, so whenever we do make it up to the city that named us we make the best of it!
Minneapolis is beautiful this time of year as long as it isn't snowing. And other than a little rain the night of our show, it was heavenly!
The show was at Lee's Liquor Lounge, an old-timey Country-ish bar with tons of charm and over a million years of history! We were fortunate enough to hear/dance to the sweet sounds of Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapels before we were met on stage by a fun and attentive audience for our set. One of our favorite bands in the world, A Night In The Box closed out the night with what was probably the most rocking set by anyone, anywhere ever!
Here's a slide show put together by Photographer/Henrys Fan Patrick McCutchan!
What can I say about Sioux Falls that hasn't already been said about pancakes? I really wish we could head up to that gem of the plains more often, we always have a good time. We've made many friends in The SuFu over the years and we are continually impressed by their consistent attendance at our shows as well as the hospitality they extend us.
The show was at Nutty's North. It's pretty much THE place to play in Sioux Falls. Joining us on the bill were Harriet Tweed, Roman Ships and Damn Your Eyes, the latter band featuring our very own label-mate Eric Swanson on vocals.
Both shows were wonderful. Both towns deserve medals. We'll be back!
