Support your scene

If you've ever been to Chicago and seen us play, chances are it was at the Quennect Four Gallery in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood. Up until late last year, the community art space has been a mainstay in Chicago's underground music scene. Everyone involved with the space we now call family, they watch our backs and we watch theirs. Most of our local following can be attributed to people first seeing us at Quennect Four's incredible 20Hz x 20 kHz Open Mic, which ran from 2006 until early 2009. Every other Thursday, over 20 acts showed up, signed up, and played two songs (the space provided all of the backline to accommodate even full bands). It was an incredible opportunity for up-and-coming artists to get out and play.

We were shocked to hear a few months back that our friends at Quennect Four had to shut their doors due to a Cease and Desist order from the city for not having a proper license. You can probably tell by now that we loved this space and we'd love to see them do much more with everything they need to be deemed satisfactory by the powers that be. They are currently working toward getting their non-profit status and raising funds to put toward a new space, but it's going to take a lot. We are urging you to keep your eyes peeled for fundraising events, summer festivals put on by the Quennect Four team and online pledge drives that will all come together to keep this vital community operating with a new home base.
